In My Mailbox (5)

In My Mailbox (IMM) is hosted by Kristi @ The Story Siren
In My Mailbox is a place to showcase your new books,
whether you obtained them through the post or otherwise.

I received two swaps this week and I'm very pleased about them both! I've been close to purchasing I am the Cheese for a while after seeing it in bookshops. I've hadn't really heard of Geektastic: Stories from the Nerd Herd before, but it sounds good to me - stories about nerds (yay!) and contributed to by a huge array of great Young Adult authors.

I bought two books from The Book Depository this week. I've had my eye on The Complete Maus for a while due to it's rave reviews and extremely high ratings - this combined with the story of The Second World War makes it sound extremely interesting! I've only recently seen The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight around, but from the positive reviews, intriguing plot and beautiful cover, I just had to get my hands on a copy!

I bought Wicked (Witch & Curse), Fearless, The Named and The City of Ember from a charity shop. I think that the Wicked bind up looks like it has great potential and I love the dystopian idea behind Fearless.

A bargain bookshop was having a sale where I picked up all of these books for just 99p each and considering three of these were hardbacks, I couldn't give up that offer! I'm especially looking forward to reading Tall, Dark and Dead, Ruby Red and Siberia, but I also picked up Tom Boler, Make Believe, Adverbs and Between Angels & Demons.

And Marianne Curley was one of my fave authors awhile back, haven't read anything from her in years though, but I LOVED that trilogy you're about to start! Also try to get her first book and standalone, Old Magic! It was one of my all time faves ever! Read it so many times!

  10. I love love book bargains - I've been in several recently, and I just couldn't ban myself from buying as much as I can possibly carry. I love your book finds!

My ten year old daughter and I read MAUS I and II a year ago (she was nine) and we were both riveted by it. For this Christmas, my husband gave me Metamaus - complete with a dvd! That's quite awesome, really. And yes, all the rave reviews and recognition for Maus are well-deserved. You have got to read that. :)

here's my IMM for the week (which includes Metamaus hehehe):
