The question that everyone was asked this week was:

How many unread books are sitting on your bookshelf right now?

I can't tell you exactly how many unread books are sitting on my bookshelves and floor right now, but I own over 1625 books and most of these are unread (I nearly always send my read books onto others), so I can safely say that I have well over 1000, yes, one thousand, unread books sitting on my shelves right now - all physical copies (hardbacks/paperbacks).


It may take me a while to read all of those...
I can't help it, I'm a complete bibliophile and a bit of a (book)shopaholic, too, but hey - you can never have too many books, can you? ;)

    Oh goodness! I've only read a little over 1000 books in my whole lifetime! I wish you much luck with those books. It must look like a beautiful collection.

    Do you have any idea how to tackle all of those? Are you just going to grab a random book and read it or is there going to be some sort of system? Large numbers stress me out.

    O!M!G! I was totally ashamed by how many I had unread, but dang. You made me feel much better with my number. It will be awesome to see how many of the books you make it through by the end of the year! On the flip side, your addiction supports our beloved authors, so I cannot find fault with your numbers. I look at it this way. I am in danger or running out of stories to read (eventually) and you have nothing to worry about in that department. I am actually a bit jealous.     My mouth literally dropped a little when I read that. 1000 books!? How do you have the room for that many? I have roughly 400 and they take up a whole wall...I can only imagine what it must be like for you. Also, I love that you have only physical books/hardcovers! Call me old fashioned but I don't like reading my books off of screens.
